Carolyn Bartlett

Carolyn F . Bartlett , age 74, of Rowley, formerly of Lynnfield, passed away on Thursday, May 9 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Richmond, VA on October 20, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Douglas P. and Elsie E. (Horner) Bartlett .

Carolyn was raised in a military family and after graduating high school, went on to receive her Master's Degree in Nursing from Texas Women's University. She was an operating room nurse in the Army for 20 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. She continued in the nursing field and spent the remainder of her career as a surgical nurse, finally retiring from Massachusetts General Hospital. In her retirement, she was very involved with the VFW. She enjoyed spending time knitting and did a lot of volunteer work at various organizations. Carolyn loved dogs, most especially her Doberman mix, Marley.

She was the sister of Harold Bartlett of Haverhill and Philip Bartlett and his wife Carol of Lynnfield. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Craig and Kayle Bartlett , Lisa Strickland, and Emily Bartlett , as well as many dear friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4-7pm with Military Funeral Honors to be rendered at 7pm.
