Carolyn M. Rourke, 85, of Lynnfield died on Monday, January 9 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center in Peabody.
Born in Arlington on December 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Margaret (Erickson) Cunha.
Mrs. Rourke was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1956. She retired from American Claim Service. Mrs. Rourke was a member of the Lynnfield Senior Center, a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. She enjoyed traveling to New Zealand and Virginia to spend time with her family.
She was the beloved wife of David E. Rourke. She was the loving mother of Marcia McIntire and her husband Christopher of Danvers, David Rourke, Jr. and his partner Juan Mansilla of Virginia, Linda Klenner and her husband Grant of New Zealand, and Craig Rourke and his wife Angela of Saugus. She was the sister of Richard Cunha and his wife Marie of Florida and the late Jesse Cunha, James Cunha, Marjorie Knight, Joan DiNino and Lawrence Cunha. She was the grandmother of Amalia and AJ McIntire, Alexander, Benjamin and Olivia Klenner, and Joshua, Nicole, Samantha and the late Zachary Rourke. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Charlene Cunha of New York.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, January 19 from 4-7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem Sts., in Lynnfield on Friday, January 20 at 10am followed by an interment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
