Catherine Carroll

Catherine M . Carroll (Blais) 88, of Stoneham died peacefully at her home in Stoneham on Sunday October 1.

Born in Boston on June 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Carl Sr. and Agnes (Keefe) Blais.

Catherine was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston. Catherine worked for the Stoneham public schools for 19 years before her retirement. Catherine has been a resident of Stoneham since 1956 and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Stoneham. In her spare time Catherine loved working in her garden, cooking, shopping and spending summers with her family at the beach.

Catherine was the wife of the late Joseph M . Carroll . She was the mother to Maureen and her husband John Brennan of Andover, Steve Carroll of Hampton NH, and Kevin Carroll and his wife Cheryl of Bradford MA. She was the sister of Carl Blais of Watertown, and the late Robert Blais of South Boston. Catherine is also survived by her 6 grandchildren Michelle, Jill, Gregory, Amy, Daniel and Julie and her 3 great grandchildren Justin, Gage and Gavin. Catherine also leaves her nieces and many friends.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham of Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
