Catherine Wenyon

Catherine M . Wenyon , 85, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, February 6 after a long period of failing health.

Born in Ardmore, PA on December 7, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Michael & Bridget (Bradley) Cairns.

Mrs.Wenyon was raised in Ardmore and had been a Wakefield resident for many years. She was an active member of St. Joseph Church and in earlier years she had been employed by the Paul K. Guillow Company, Jordan Marsh and Transitron Electronics. She had also been active in the Ladies Bowling League of Wakefield.

Mrs. Wenyon was the beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Wenyon . She was the loving mother of Leonard J. Wenyon , Jr. & wife Angela of Newark, DE, Robert M . Wenyon & wife Ronda of Carrolton, TX, Arnold P. Wenyon & wife Desiree of Fullerton, CA, Kathleen T. Wallace & husband David of Haverhill, Karen Fayne of Sagamore Beach and Coleen Conte of Dover, NH. She was the sister of the late Agnes Malatesta, Mary Hansberry and Daniel, Joseph, James, Michael & John Cairns. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Interment will be at the V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
