Charles M. Artz, III, 65, of Bradford, formerly of Wakefield died on Saturday, December 10 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Winchester on March 26, 1946 he was the son of Charles M. Artz, Jr. of Stoneham and the late Arline (Millar) Artz.
Mr. Artz was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He had retired from the Mass Bay Commuter Rail in 2006 after 40 years of service.
Mr. Artz was a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield. He was also a former member of The Billerica Lodge of Elks, the Golden Rule Lodge AF & AM of Wakefield and the Aleppo Temple in Wilmington.
Mr. Artz enjoyed horseback riding, 10 Pin Bowling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Linda R. (Cultrera) Artz, his son Charles M. Artz, IV of Haverhill and his fiancé Kelly Deschamp and his brother Wayne R. Artz of FL. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Ava R. Artz, Lexi R. Artz, Cash J. Artz and Joel Lopez and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
