Charles Canali

Charles F. Canali, 76, of Lynnfield and formerly of Dorchester died on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence.

Born on April 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Madeline (Doucett) Canali.

Charles was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of B.C. High School and later graduated from Northeastern University. He also earned his MBA from Babson College. He had worked at Lucent Technologies where he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Society of American Engineers and also a member of Hochflieger Ski Club of NH. He served in the U.S Air Force and volunteered with the A.A.R.P. He loved to travel, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member and long time Usher at the St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield.

He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline A. (White). He was the loving father of Marais C. Young and husband Peter of Arlington, John J. Canali of GA, Dr. Laura M. Canali of WA. He was the grandfather of Nathaniel and Brendan Young.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Tuesday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Maria Goretti Church 112 Chestnut St. Lynnfield at 11:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Monday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Charles' name to Mission of Deeds, 6 Chapin Ave. Reading MA 01867 or to St. Matthew's Parish, 33 Stanton St. Dorchester, MA 02124.
