Charles Cerretani

Charles T. Cerretani, 90, of Harwich formerly of Stoneham and Wakefield died on Wednesday, June 6 at the Epoch of Harwich.

Born in Wakefield on October 22, 1921 he was the son of the Amilcare and Uliano (DiRocco) Cerretani.

Mr. Cerretani had been a resident of Harwich for the past eight years and had been a Stoneham resident from 1958 to 2004. He was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Burdette College. Mr. Cerretani was the owner and operator for Rapid Car Wash and Rapid Liquors both in Stoneham and had a Fruit & Vegetable stand in Arlington and Stoneham. He was a member of the Stoneham Lions Club. Mr. Cerretani was a World War II Army Veteran.

Mr. Cerretani was the husband of the late Irene C. (MacLeod) Cerretani. He is survived by his son David W. Cerretani of Naples, Florida, his three daughters; Cathe Ann Cerretani and her husband Ronald Musk of Harwich, Diana J. Cerretani-Carr and Linda C. Cerretani and her husband David Arsenault all of Stoneham, his four brothers; William Cerretani and John Cerretani both of Stoneham, Tony Cerretani of Billerica and Richard Cerretani of Pocasset. Mr. Cerretani is also survived by his eight grandchildren; Jessica D. Cerretani, Lauren I. Cerretani-Desrocher, Marianne H. and Ramsey C. Musk, Jesse M, Janelle R. and Jeila H. Carr, D.J. Arsenault. He is predeceased by his son Bruce A. Cerretani, his two brothers; Orlando and James Cerretani, his two sisters; Fanny Miller and Ruth Piccarelli, his granddaughter Jade C. Carr and his son-n-law WIlliam Carr.

A funeral service will be held in the First Congregation Church, corner of Main and Common Sts, in Stoneham on Friday at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mass. Lions Eye Research P.O. Box 6050, New Bedford, MA 02740 or to the charity of ones choice.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
