Charles Confalone

Charles J. Confalone of Wakefield died Saturday February 12 at age 91. Born in Wakefield on September 15, 1919 he was the son of the late Alfonse & Giovana (Orsini) Confalone.

Mr. Confalone was a life long Wakefield resident and graduate of Wakefield High School and was a member of the football, baseball & hockey teams. He later served during W.W. II giving 7 years of service in the U.S. Army. For 37 years Mr. Confalone was the popular and well known manager and maitre de of The Ship Restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus. He received many citations over the years for his work in the restaurant industry and in 1979 he was inducted into the Maitre de Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jeanette M. "Jennie" (DiZazzo) Confalone. He was the brother of the late Nicholas, James, Guidino, Quedo, Antonio, Alfred & Albert Confalone and Mary Fazio. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Wednesday at 10am followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield at 11:00. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8pm.
