Charles Chanley

Charles J . Chanley , 86, a Wakefield resident since 1958, died on Wednesday, October 16 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Born in Everett on April 2, 1927 he was the son of the late Charles and Lena (Simonelli) Cianciulli.

Mr. Chanley was a graduate of Everett High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Lighting Engineer from Fay-Spofford & Thordike in Boston and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield.

Mr. Chanley was the husband of the late Rose (DelGaizo) Chanley . He was the father of Richard Chanley of Gardner, David Chanley of Wakefield and Chuck Chanley of Naples, ME. He was the brother of the late Richard Chanley and grandfather of Phillip, Nicole and Crystal Chanley and Michelle Ledger. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Chanley was the brother-in-law of Dot Chanley and Anne Coviello and her husband Buster all of Wakefield, Vera Milano and her husband John of Stoneham, and Marguerite DelGaizo of Needham. .

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11 a.m. A Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
