Charles L. Pizzano, 86, of Peabody formerly of Wakefield and Stoneham, died on Wednesday, March 7 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Peabody.
Born in Wakefield on March 17, 1925 he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Vincenca (Vozzela) Pizzano.
Mr. Pizzano was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1943. He was a retired carpenter at the New England Memorial Hospital. Charles was a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield and had served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed bowling and dancing.
Mr. Pizzano is survived by his wife Carol M. (Wortman) Pizzano, his five sons; Paul Pizzano and his wife Janice of Ashland, NH, Charles Pizzano, Jr. and his wife Denise of Melrose, Stephen Pizzano and his wife Judy Tsao of Toronto, Canada, Peter Pizzano and his wife Donna of Stoneham and John Pizzano and his partner Robert Heywood of Plaistow, NH and his sister Dorothy Anastos of Wakefield. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-4pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02026.
