Charles Coombs

Charles W . Coombs , 85, of Melrose died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Saturday, June 12.

Born in Stoneham on May 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Wilner P. and Hester (Atkinson) Coombs .

Mr. Coombs was the husband of the late Lorraine (Surette) Coombs . He was the father of Charles W . Coombs , Jr. of Bourne, Deborah Clarke and her husband Kevin of Malden, Sandra Cass and her husband Richard of Wakefield, and the late Michael Coombs . He was the brother of Carlton Coombs of Stoneham, Marilyn Savory of AZ., Ruthie Haig of CO, Norman Coombs of Wilmington and the late Robert Coombs , Vesta Casey, Helen Coombs , George Coombs and Elsie Haradon. He is also predeceased by his daughter-in-law Margaret Coombs .

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.

Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
