Christopher M. Scribner, 43, of Merrimac and Melrose, MA passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on November 5, 2013. He is survived by his adored and beloved son Connor Scribner of Chelmsford, his mother Donna (Nelson) Scribner of Melrose and his sister Dana Scribner of Middleton. He is also survived by his aunts Lois DeViller of Wakefield and Judith Nelson of Melrose as well as many cousins.
Chris was born in Boston, MA May 9, 1970. He was the son of Donna M. (Nelson) Scribner and the late Peter L. Scribner. Chris grew up in Melrose, attending both Malden Catholic and Melrose high schools and studied music at U-Mass. Chris enjoyed every genre of music to be heard and played keyboard and guitar throughout his life with several bands, a blues band most recently.
Professionally, he was an account executive/business development manager for a number of technology companies including Netanium Network Security, Worldcom/MCI and Lancast/Metrobility Optical Systems. In the early 90's he helped in the pioneering of networking technologies at his particular firm and rode the dot.com wave. Earlier in life, he worked as a sous chef in several restaurants. His love for food carried through his whole life and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He loved to try new cuisines and he particularly liked to introduce others to things they had never tried before.
Chris was a unique individual who enjoyed taking a different path and the road less traveled. He was a free spirit, and had an incredibly sophisticated sense of humor. His kind and gentle soul will be terribly missed and as the days pass we will remember him playing his guitar, singing, laughing and presenting us with another new and wonderful taste array.
Private services held. Donations in memory of Chris may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
