Clementina Fregosi , age 94, a loving wife, mother, grandmother aunt and friend died Wednesday, November 2 after a long period of failing health. She was born in Everett, MA on August 18, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Masciola) Cosentino. She was a graduate of Everett High School and had been a longtime Wakefield resident where she raised her family. Clementina was a member of the "Greatest Generation" who went on to work during the Depression to help support her family. At age sixteen she began work in the sewing factories of Boston and continued as a seamstress and worked from home after she was married. Her greatest joy was to be with her family, cooking, listening and holding many babies on her lap through the years. Clementina was an early advocate for children with special needs and lovingly cared for her youngest son, Johnny, until his death at age 19. A woman of great strength and a strong faith, Clementina lived her life simply and in service to others.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph F. Fregosi . She was the loving mother of Christine Beagan and her husband Hugh of Randolph, Stephanie Dolloff and husband Stephen of Bradford, Ralph Fregosi and wife Charlene of Tucson, AZ, Frank Fregosi and wife Donna of Leominster, and the late Johnny. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Frank and Anthony Cosentino. She was the loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in-law Margaret Monteforte and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10:00. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 5pm.
