Clifton Rawcliffe

Clifton E . Rawcliffe a longtime resident of Lynnfield died Tuesday morning at the Aurora Senior Living of Derry, New Hampshire.

Born in New Bedford, MA on October 22, 1924 he was the son of the late John and Emily (Taylor) Rawcliffe .

Mr. Rawcliffe was raised in New Bedford. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, and Bates College. During World War II he served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy and served aboard a PT Boat. He later graduated from Northeastern University with an Engineering degree. Mr. Rawcliffe worked for General Electric and was retired as a Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1990. Mr. Rawcliffe was a member and Past Master of the Lynnfield Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Rawcliffe was the beloved husband of the late Lois J. (Yuille) Rawcliffe . He was the father of John C. Rawcliffe of Salem, NH, and Susan L. Smith of Manchester, NH. Grandfather of Jonathan and Victoria Rawcliffe , Stephanie C. Bailey-Gates, Amanda J. Smith, and Christopher D. Smith.

His funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4-7p.m. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
