Healy, Cornelius F. “Fran” of Stoneham, February 27, 2023, age 102. Son of the late Robert W. & Nora C. Healy. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peg” Cummings Healy. Born in N. Cambridge, graduate of St. John’s High School, Class of 1938. Brother of the late Robert W. Healy, sisters Mary Cavanaugh, Eleanor Ahern, Margaret & Barbara Healy. Survived by sons Paul (Doreen), Donald (Nancy), Kevin (Debra), also survived by grandchildren Kristen (Daniel), Eric (Natalie), Ryan (Giselle), and Elyse Delucia, beloved great grandchildren Alexander & twins Frederick & Isabelle, Levi and Ever. He is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews, cousins & friends, especially the Nims family, Steven (Eileen), Briana (Shane), Sarah (TJ) and Emery Rose. Also remembering the late Agnes Emery, dear friend & companion. Fran was a Registered Civil Engineer & employed for 40 years with the Mass Dept of Public Works. He was a proud veteran of WWII & recipient of European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with five battle bronze star, which included the Omaha Beach Normandy invasion & Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), also the recipient of the bronze star medal for heroic action at St. Lo, France. He was a member of the 29th Infantry Div. Assoc. Funeral from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, Monday, March 6th, followed by a funeral mass celebrating Fran’s eternal life in St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Family & friends are invited to gather & share remembrance with the family on Sunday, March 5th from 1 - 4 pm at McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA., with military honors, under the direction of Keefe Funeral Home.
