Daniel H. Burbine, 86, a life long Wakefield resident died on Friday, January 15 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Wakefield on November 29, 1923 he was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Doucette) Burbine.
Mr. Burbine was raised and educated in Wakefield. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. Burbine retired from the Town of Wakefield as foreman of the cemetery department. He won a contest in 1976 and named the Americal Civic Center. Mr. Burbine was a member of the Wakefield Redmen's Club, the Wakefield V.F.W, the USS Henley DD 762 Association and St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. He was an avid horse shoe player.
Mr. Burbine was the husband of the late Lillian (Doucette) Burbine. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Liessner and her husband Christopher of Georgetown, his son Brian J. Burbine of Wakefield, his brother Richard Burbine of Idaho and his two sisters; Lorraine Muise of Reading and Shirley Muse of New Boston, NH. Mr. Burbine is also survived by his 2 grandchildren; Sarah and Daniel Harrison. He was predeceased by his son John Burbine and his two brothers; Thomas Burbine and Kenneth Burbine.
A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 11am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm.
