David Francis Palermo passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2021, he was 62.
He was born in Malden, MA on August 20, 1959, the son of the late Joseph and Patricia Palermo. He is survived by his wife Lisa (Haddock) Palermo and sons Nathaniel and Nicholas. David is also survived by his 13 siblings, Catherine Lundman, Judith Palermo, Patricia Swasey, Robert Palermo, Michael Palermo, Virginia Gifford, John Palermo, Elizabeth Stephens, Susan Palermo, Timothy Palermo, Joanne Hadeagh, Christopher Palermo and Paul Palermo, and many nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by his four best friends: Jack McTighe, Michael Connerty, Joseph Sodi and Michael O'Connell.
David grew up in Stoneham, MA and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1978. He attended an Electrical Technical School and became a licensed electrician. He worked as a Life Safety Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He had a wide range of interests and hobbies including working on cars, home renovations, building and flying remote controlled airplanes, riding his motorcycle, recreational shooting at the local gun club, giving his children, nieces and nephews rides on his sit-down lawn mower, go carts, and minibikes, and spending quality time with his wife and sons, who meant the world to him.
David was musically inclined and was an accomplished guitarist and played in local bands for several years.
He was gifted with a talent of being able to fix just about anything and he enjoyed the challenge of repairing things that seemed unrepairable.
Dave always maintained a positive attitude, was enthusiastic and committed, he gave 100% in everything he did. He was brave and courageous and lived his life with dignity and consideration of others.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends that he touched throughout his life.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Thursday, August 26 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday, August 25 from 4-8pm. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross in David's name.
