Denise Pellegrino

Denise J. Healy Pellegrino, 78 a lifelong resident of Stoneham died Friday June 8, at the Aberjona Nursing Center of Winchester.

Denise was born in Boston on May 12, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Dennis J. and Gertrude (Taff) Healy.

Denise was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Marycliff Academy in Winchester, Class of 1957. She graduated from Michigan State and was a big booster of the Michigan Spartans. She later received a Masters in Social Work from Boston State.

Denise was the beloved wife of the late John Pellegrino. She was the loving sister of Jane Prohaska of Marblehead and Doreen Hoff and her husband Kenneth Hoff of VA. She was the cousin of Pat Woodall-Ryan of Virginia. She is also survived by her nephew John D. Prohaska and his partner Rebecca Denault and their son Harrison Prohaska; her niece, Julie Campisani and her husband Peter; her nieces, Amy Prohaska, Jennifer Hoff, and Mindy Hoff; Step-daughter, Andrea Pellegrino and her children: Emily Chiarenza and her husband Anthony, Alex Sullivan and his wife Anna; beloved great-grandchildren Anthony and Lia. She also leaves behind many family and friends who provided sincere and deep support, her classmates from Mary Cliff Academy and former co-workers and colleagues.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Thursday at 7pm. Visitations for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Denise's name to Michigan State Alumni Association, 535 Chestnut Rd., Suite #300, East Lansing MI 48824.
