Dominic F. Marinello, 86 of Saugus, died on Sunday, June 7 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston on August 13, 1933, he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine (Contardo) Marinello.
Mr. Marinello was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in the North End of Boston. He was the former owner of Tammy's Italian Restaurant on the Freedom Trail, and head of Security for Cushman & Wakefield.
Dom is survived by his wife Joan (Caso) Marinello, with whom he shared 61 beautiful years of marriage. In addition to loving their family, together they enjoyed trips to Europe, the Caribbean and later, loved spending winters in Naples, Florida. Dom is survived by his three daughters; Lisa Jones and her husband Dan of Topsfield, Lauren O'Brien and her husband Kevin of North Reading and Lynne Swensen of Georgetown, his seven adoring grandchildren; Samantha and her fiancé Brendan Oliver & Sydney Jones, Matthew & Alexandra O'Brien and Christopher & Caroline Swensen. He was predeceased by his two brothers Louis Marinello and Rocco Marinello and his two sisters; Vincenza Palma and Josephine Maduri. He is survived by his sisters-in law Maria Marinello, Rita and her husband Elio DiLibero and Sally and her husband Michael Semertgakis. As his brother, Rocco passed, Dom had the joy of walking his nieces Leah and Katie down the aisle to marry; always embracing them as his daughters too. He was loved by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
Dom loved family, Sunday dinners, the Red Sox, had a great sense of humor, a positive attitude and especially loved his winters in Naples, Florida. He was very loved and will be forever missed.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield, MA on (Thursday, June 11, 2020) at (10am). Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
