, 64, of Reading, Massachusetts formerly of Milton, Vermont, died peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Burlington, Vermont February 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert and Marion (Carter)

Donald
was a graduate of Burlington High School in Burlington, Vermont, Class of 1966. He served in the United States Army 131st Engineers and proudly served his country with a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969.
Donald
retired in 1993 after 25 years at IBM in Essex Junction, Vermont working in manufacturing and administration. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Donald
fought a heroic battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 38 years - he dealt with every challenge he faced with a positive, can-do attitude that inspired all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He lived his life as a great example of how we should treat and care for each other and he will be missed every single day.

married the love of his life Suzanne Mary (Bara) in Burlington, Vermont on September 17, 1966. They spent most of their married life in Milton, Vermont before moving to Reading, MA in 2004 to be near their son,

of Wakefield, MA. He was a loving and proud husband, father, and grandfather.
Donald
loved listening to music, gardening, sports, spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their many activities.
In addition to his beloved wife of 46 years, son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren Mr.
Dubuque
is survived by his three adoring sisters; Cheryl Alderman and her husband Dennis, Jacqueline Barton, and Alba Boutin and her husband Kevin all of Vermont. He was the brother-in-law of Thomas Bara and his wife Barbara of Vermont, Elene Bara of Vermont, and Josephine Sweetser and her husband Raymond of Washington.
Donald
is also survived by many nieces and nephews, an aunt and an uncle, and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law; John and Eleanor Bara, his three brothers-in-law; John R. Bara, Clifford Roberts, and James Barton, and his sister-in-law Colleen Roberts Sumner.
A period of visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, Massachusetts on Thursday, August 9th from 4-8 pm. A period of visitation will also be held at the Minor Funeral Home, 237 Route 7 South, Milton, Vermont on Sunday, August 12th from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, 41 Main Street, Milton, Vermont on Monday, August 13th at 11 am. Interment will be at St. Ann's Cemetery in Milton, Vermont.
