Doris Landry

Doris N. Landry, 94, a Lynnfield resident since 1957, died on Tuesday, October 11 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Peabody.

Born in Boston on September 7, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Ellis W. and Amy L. Nickerson Nelson.

Doris was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1935 and Hickox Secretarial School in Boston. She was a retired Bookkeeper for the Stoneham Lumber Company. She had also worked for Landry-Brown Company in Lynnfield and John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston.

Doris was the former Secretary to the Board of Directors for North Shore Skating Club and Honorary Member of the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop and the Quannapowitt Yacht Club in Wakefield. She was also a member of the Lynnfield Center CoupleA�A�A�s Club.

Doris was the wife of the late Arthur J. Landry, Jr. She was the mother of Steven A. Landry and his wife Maureen of Fairfax, VA, Christopher M. Landry and his Fiancee Kathryn Racicot of Nashua, NH and Suzanne L. Sweezey and her husband Robert L. of Lynnfield. She was the sister of the late Marjorie McLaughlin and Leonard E. Nelson and the grandmother of Meghan and Ryan Sweezey.

A funeral service will be held at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Friday at 11 a.m. A visitation for relative and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
