Doris Virginia (Oliver) Parsons, 89, of Lynnfield died on Tuesday April 17 at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Winchester on October 22, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Roland B. and Octavia I. (Parker) Oliver.
Mrs. Parsons was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1940. She had worked for 27 years at the Malden Savings Bank and was the Branch Manager of the Maplewood Branch for many years. Mrs. Parsons was a life member of the First Baptist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and on several boards and committees.
Mrs. Parsons was the wife of the late Wayne Schumann and Theodore Parsons. She is survived by her niece Reverend Marcia Eaton, her stepson, Theodore Parsons, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Sterling, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda and Theodore III. Mrs. Parsons was predeceased by her sister Myrtle E. Eaton, her brother-in-law, Reverend David S. Eaton, and her nephew Mark W. Eaton.
A funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
