Dorothea A. Routhier, 81, of Saugus formerly of Stoneham died on Thursday February 25 at her home.
Born in Woburn on May 20, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Marion C. (Bean) Hastings.
Mrs. Routhier was a graduate of Stoneham High School and Boston University College of Practical Arts and Letters. She was an employee of the Gulf Oil Corporation for several years. Later she worked for the Federal Government where she was employed by the First Coast Guard District in Boston and subsequently with the U.S. Customs Service Regional Office in Boston as a supervisor for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Routhier was the beloved wife of the late Lewis P. Routhier. She was the sister of Phyllis M. Erbland of Amherst, NH and Aunt of Robin Anne Erbland of Lowell, Catherine Gallagher, Lizbeth Egan and Virginia Turner all of Billerica, April Erbland of CO. and Thomas Erbland, Jr. of MO.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis and Dorothea A. Routhier Memorial Scholarship fund c/o Stoneham High School, 149 Franklin St. Stoneham, MA. 02180.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham.
