, 82, of Newburyport formerly of Wakefield died Monday October 12th at the Country Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Newburyport. She was the loving wife of 50 years of the late Edward J.
Callahan
Jr.
Born in Haverhill on December 15, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Lillian F. (Sullivan) O'Brien.
Mrs.
Callahan
was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1944 and attended the Chandler Business School for Women in Boston. She worked as an auditor at Sears and Roebuck for several years retiring at the age of 62. She was a long time Wakefield resident before moving to Newburyport in 2003. Mrs.
Callahan
was an active member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield where she volunteered and participated in the MBS Guild and church activities on an ongoing basis. Her biggest accomplishments in life were her husband, five children and eight grandchildren. Nothing was more special to Dot than sharing moments with her family, especially summer vacations on Plum Island when they could all be together. She devoted her whole life to her family providing them with unconditional love and support always emphasizing faith, love and hope as the foundations of life.

III and his wife Erin of Reading, Joseph R.
Callahan
Sr. and his wife Maura of Groveland, her daughters Joan Barlow and her husband Michael of Newburyport, Mary Zanchi and her husband Charles of North Reading, sister of Eileen Cammett of Groveland and her son in law James Riley of CA. Mrs.
Callahan
is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Caitlin, Brendan and Molly

, Lisa Zanchi, Sam, Casey and Jake Barlow and Joseph

was the loving mother of the late Kathleen
Callahan
Riley and loving sister of the late F. June O'Brien, Lois Lally, Mary O'Brien and Joseph O'Brien.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund Tribute Program in honor of Molly
