Dorothy Viland

Dorothy J . Viland , 84, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, June 17 at the Epoc Senior Healthcare in Melrose.

Born in Medford on February 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Muriel M. (Greene) MacNeil

Mrs. Viland was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1942. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1968 and was retired from the Wakefield Department of Public Works.

Mrs. Viland was the wife of the late Ernest E. Viland . She is survived by three daughters, Leslie J . Hurton and her husband Bill of Wakefield, Janet B. Castiglione and her husband Gary of Wilmington and Ellen A. Richard and Ralph Prydekker of Wilmot, NH, her son, Douglas Viland and his wife Karen of MI, two brothers, Douglas MacNeil of PA and William MacNeil of FL and her sister, Nancy Desgrosellier of Portland, ME. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Viland was predeceased by her son, Eric E. Viland and brother, Donald K. MacNeil.

Relatives and friends may call at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be private.
