Dorothy Lena

Dorothy M. Lena, 89 of Wakefield and formerly of Stoneham died Monday, September 9 in Danvers.

Born in Waterbury, CT on December 29, 1923 the daughter of the late Walter and Madeline (Burke) Lena.

Miss Lena was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School and later from the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. She had been a long time Wakefield resident and was a retired Nurse Anesthetist from the Boston City Hospital.

She was the sister of the late Madeline "Betty" Carney and husband David. She was the cousin of Judith Benson of Pembroke and the late Maryalice Burke. She was also the aunt of David C. "Chuck" Carney and Lisa Urizandi.

Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Saturday, September 14 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the M.S.P.C.A. – ANGELL 350 South Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130.
