Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy M . Johnson , 92, of Reading and formerly Wakefield, died at the Wingate of Reading nursing home on Friday November 11.

Born in Wakefield on May 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Edgar C. and Mary R. (Wenzel) Russell.

Mrs. Johnson was raised in Wakefield and had been a member of the St. Florence Parish and was also a member of the St. Florence Ladies Sodality.

Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late John H. Johnson . She was the mother of Donna Leavitt and her husband Cliff of Wakefield, James Johnson and his wife Lin of Errol, NH and the late Carole Johnson Boettcher. Dorothy is survived by her six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was the sister of the late Winnifred Strain and Edgar J. Russell.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave.Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m.

Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
