Dorothy A. Neavitt, 89, of Lynnfield and Port St. Lucie, Florida died on Wednesday, January 25 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lynnfield.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Janice (Vick) Ficke.
Dorothy was a graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore, Class of 1945 and Goucher College, Class of 1949. Prior to marrying and moving north, she taught English at Fort McHenry Jr. High School in Baltimore. She had been a Lynnfield resident since 1958, and Port St. Lucie, Florida since 1978. Dorothy loved English History, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed walking Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield every day.
Mrs. Neavitt is survived by her husband H. Thomas Neavitt, her four daughters; Elizabeth L. Frank and her husband Walter of Bedford, Janice Neavitt of Charlestown, Carol Neavitt of Peabody and Ellen Chapman and her husband Randy of Amherst, NH. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and her two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
