Dr. Mark R. Margiotta, of The Villages, FL, beloved husband of Pamela Margiotta, died suddenly on April 17, 2016 at the Leesburg Hospital.
Mark was the son of Mark Margiotta and Evelyn Zarrella Margiotta. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Gentile.
He was born April 8, 1931 in Waterbury, CT.
He graduated from University of Vermont Medical School, spent his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland and was the Chief of Medicine at the Brooke Army Hospital in Texas. During his military career, he obtained the rank of Major. He was Chief of Medicine in Nuremburg, Germany. He started his own private medical practice in Reading, Massachusetts and founded Reading Internal Medicine Associates, retiring in 1998 after 32 years in practice.
Mark leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Pamela Margiotta, son, Mark Richard Margiotta, Jr.( Wife - Sonya), of Marathon, FL, daughter, Susan Margiotta of Essex Jct., VT, daughter, Terese Zingg, (Husband - David) of Gloucester, MA, son, Stephen Margiotta (Wife - Shanley) of Melrose, MA., Step-daughter, Julie Lawrence (Mocklin), (Husband - Noah) of Seattle, Washington and Step-Son, Kevin Mocklin ( Wife - Gail) of Mansfield, MA. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anne (Bossidy) and his second wife, Marcia (Nichols).
Mark was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family, parties by the pool with friends and family, golf and tennis. He was an avid Washington Nationals fan and loved to travel. Most of all, he loved his family.
Visiting hours and celebration of Mark's life will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Monday May 9, 2016 from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services were held in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make a contribution in his memory to their local ASPCA, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY, 10128-6804 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially his beloved cat, "Miss Kitty".
