Edgar Blanchette

Edgar F . "Buddy" Blanchette , 87, a resident of Charlotte, NC for 40 years and formerly of Lawrence, MA died on Thursday, March 1 in Charlotte.

Born in Lawrence, MA on January 29, 1925 he was the son of the late Edgar and Frances (Cassidy) Blanchette .

Mr. Blanchette was raised in Lawrence, MA and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1942. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Blanchette had worked for BF Goodrich and later for Converse Rubber Co. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Gabriel's Parish.

Mr. Blanchette was the husband of Eileen G. (Fairburn) Blanchette . He was the father of Frances Farrell and her husband David of Chapel Hill, NC, Paul Blanchette and his wife Katie of Mint Hill, NC, Eileen Coffman and her husband CDR Mark Coffman, USN, of Norfolk, VA and Daniel Blanchette of Bynum, NC. He was the brother of Joseph Blanchette of Lawrence. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adam and Brian Blanchette and Mary Beth, Cassidy and Matthew Coffman and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen on Saturday March 10 at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, 114 South Broadway in Lawrence at 11 o'clock. A period if Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday March 9 from 4 – 7 P.M.
