Edgar Wilson

Edgar B. Wilson, 85, a Wakefield resident for the past 53 years, died Thursday, August 27 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Born in Melrose on October 26, 1923 he was the son of the late John Henry and Anna C. (Johnson) Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1941 and had served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. He was employed by Eastern Tool & Dye Company in Saugus from 1941-1943 and 1946- 1948 and Raytheon Company in Waltham from 1948 to his retirement in 1986. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks, the Wakefield V.F.W, the Wakefield Men's Retirement Club and the Melrose Y.M.C.A. from March 13, 1963 to present time.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 63 years Mildred C. (McMurray) Wilson and his brother Arnold Wilson of Melrose. He also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers; Roy H. Wilson and Herbert J. Wilson and his sister Gertrude L. Andren.


A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 11am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield
