Edith O'Connor

Edith H . O'Connor , 96, of Lynnfield died on Thursday, October 9 at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody.

Born in Minneapolis, MN on December 22, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Francis and Edith (Haines) Legro.

Mrs. O'Connor was a graduate of Swampscott High School, Class of 1935. She had been a resident of Lynnfield for the past 72 years. Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the Our Lady of Assumption Church and St. Maria Goretti Church both in Lynnfield. She was a member of the Salem Country Club since in the 1940's and was a 16 time Club Champion. Mrs. O'Connor enjoyed skiing into her 80's at Cranmore Mt. and was a lifelong tennis player.

She was the wife of the late Leo H . O'Connor . Mrs. O'Connor is survived by her three daughters; Linda Camuso and her husband Stephen of Lynnfield, Cheryl Hawkins and her husband Keith of Skaneateles, NY and Andrea Bruno of Lynnfield and her late husband Joseph Bruno, her son Michael O'Connor and his partner Brenda Harding of Wenham. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren; Scott, Jill, Michael, Kristen, A.J., Alex and Greg and 4 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Maria Goretti Church, 125 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 1-4pm. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lynn.
