Edmund A . Cocco , 81, a Lynnfield resident for 41 years, died on Wednesday, May 29 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Everett on Februay 14, 1932 he was the son of the late Pellegrino and Barbara (DeCorso) Cocco .

Edmund was a graduate of Everett High School. He was also a graduate of Boston University and Harvard University. During the Korean conflict he served in the Marines Corps. Edmund started his career as an Everett Police officer and later was with the Naval Intelligence. After his retirement he became the owner of Global CARE Insurance Services of Lynnfield.

Edmund was the husband of Janet (Trentini) Cocco . He was the father of Debra Croteau and her husband Robert of Danvers, Pamela Flynn and her husband David of Portola Valley, CA and Tracy Hurley and her husband Jeffrey of Lynnfield. He was the brother of the late Anthony Cocco , Rose Masschiocci and Michael Cocco . He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Colten, Cameron, Colby, Hunter, Connor, Logan, Tyler, Victoria, Quinten and Ainsley.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Corner of Grove and Salem Sts., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
