Edmund Browne

Edmund J . Browne , 93 of Wakefield, formerly of Chelsea, died Wednesday, September 23 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Melrose.

Born in Chelsea on January 13, 1916, he was the son of the late John V. and Mary (Greene) Browne .

Mr. Browne had been a Wakefield resident since 1972. He was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Mr. Browne was a World War II Army Veteran. He had worked as a lithographer for Forbes Lithography in Chelsea and had retired in 1982 as a quality controller from the Clorox Company.

Mr. Browne was the husband of the late Elizabeth G. (Smith). He was the father of Edmund J . Browne Jr. of Wakefield and the late Elizabeth Reardon. Mr. Browne was the brother of Francis Browne of Saugus and the late John Browne , Joseph Browne and James Browne . He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6pm. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital, Gastrointestinal Cancer, 32 Fruit St, Boston, MA 02114
