Edna Forbes

Edna M. Forbes, age 87 of Stoneham passed away on October 23rd in Beverly surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Boston on August 21, 1929 and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Ann (Gillis) MacKinnon. Edna was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She had worked for the former New England Telephone Company and had been a Stoneham resident since 1976. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed following and attending the activities of her grandchildren.

Edna was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Forbes. She was the loving mother of Sandra A. Kelly and her husband Ed of Stoneham, Karen M. Forbes of Stoneham, James E. Forbes and wife Rayanne of Medford, Donna M. Forbes of Stoneham, Mary Ann Burridge and her husband Ken of Stoneham, and the late William B. Forbes. She was the sister of the late Alex, John and Simon Earl MacKinnon, Florence Parent and Rita Morris. She was the devoted grandmother of Adam, Josh, Christina, Chelsea, Billy, Jake, Brenna, Rayanne and Evan. She was the great grandmother of Carter and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home 322 Main St. Stoneham on Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10:00. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8pm.
