Edward T. Clark, 79, of Stoneham formerly of Medford, died on Sunday, November 7 at his home.
Born in Medford on October 30, 1931 he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (McDonald) Clark.
Ed graduated from Medford High School in 1950 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in business at Northeastern University. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1952 – 1954 and was a member of the DAV. He was employed by Raytheon Company for 21 years.
Ed was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish for many years. He worked with his wife, Kay, then President of Mother's Club, as well as many members and interested town people, to build the first St. Patrick's Kindergarten. At this time, the Lenten Lunches program was established and Ed's main duty was washing all the china used to serve nearly 300 people each week. He also assisted in the success of the famous St. Patrick's Tours for over twenty years. He was an active Cub Scout Leader during the early years his children attended St. Patrick's School as well as the Girl Scouts troop. He was also a member of the V.F.W.
In his retirement, Ed and his wife spent most of their time with their precious grandchildren "building Memories", if they were not traveling with St. Patrick's Tours.
Ed was the beloved husband of Katherine "Kay" (McColgan) Clark for 54 years. He was a beloved Father of six children and three deceased angels. Kerry Prifti and her husband Ryan, Andrea Guiney and her husband Wesley, Kenneth "Ted" Clark, Christina Willette and her husband Dennis, John "Jack" Clark, Cynthia Wrick, and deceased infant angels, Patrick, Robert, and Pamela. He was also a loving Grandfather of seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and a brother to seven siblings.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald- Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 o'clock. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
