Edward Whittier

Edward D . Whittier , 77, a Lynnfield resident since 1965, died on Saturday, December 6 at the Radius Health Care Center in Danvers.

Born in Chelsea on March 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Roland E. and Avis M. (Forrester) Whittier .

Mr. Whittier was raised in Randolph, ME. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Whittier was a retired president of A&W Electronics Company in Medford. He was the past president and treasurer of Lynnfield Junior Sports, past treasurer of the American Legion Post #131 in Lynnfield and active in the Lynnfield Little League.

Mr. Whittier was the husband of Barbara A. (Allen) Whittier . He was the father of E. David Whittier and Charles A. Whittier of North Reading, William G. Whittier of Brentwood, NH and Madeleine "Micki" Quinn of Merrimac, NH. He was the brother of Dorothy Eldridge of Gardiner, ME, Jane Hunt of Hilton Head, NC and the late Robert J. Whittier and Eva Eutin. He is also survived by six granddaughters Emily, Megan, Katie, Sarah, Sabrina and Morgan.

Interment was at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Radius Health Care Center Activity Dept., 66 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
