Edward Kulacz

Edward F . Kulacz , 91, died peacefully on March 24, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wakefield on March 2, 1920, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Mary (Wotowicz) Kulacz .

He spent his childhood years on Herbert St. in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1938. After joining the U.S. Navy during World War II he was stationed in San Diego, California for several years. After returning home with a distinguished service medal, he was employed by the Palmer Electric Company where he met and later married his dear wife, Florence. In January of this year they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. He enjoyed every moment of his 25 year long retirement, happy to spend his days with his wife, his children and his grandchildren.

On his ninetieth birthday he was honored by his family with the following poem:

Edward Kulacz , one of ten
Five lovely women, five handsome men

Living on Herbert Street for many years
Gained the respect of all his peers

Joined the Navy, stationed far away
Spent many nights at the Santa Fe Café

Came back home – married his sweetheart
Had three children, their first was the best part

Always smiling – always making us glad
How lucky we are to call him our dad

Sixty years together, full of good cheer
Forever calling his wife, "My dear"
Ninety years of living – how quickly they went
Ninety years of living – time very well spent

Edward Kulacz , one of ten
Edward Kulacz , the best of men

Happy 90th birthday, Dad!!
