Edward F. Pawlowski, 93, of Lynnfield died Friday, March 14 at the Chelsea Soldiers Home.
Born on November 23, 1920, he was the son of the late Bernard and Anna (Kwiatek) Pawlowski.
A Wakefield native, Mr. Pawlowski was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1938. He later made his home in Lynnfield and had been a resident since 1955. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish. Mr. Pawlowski had retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Personnel Administrator for the Department of Environmental Protection. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Mr. Pawlowski was the devoted husband of the late Muriel (Hyslip) Pawlowski. He was the loving father of Edward J. Pawlowski and his wife Joanne of North Reading, Susan P. Cadogan and her husband Richard of Lynnfield, Steven B. Pawlowski and his wife Sheila of Middleton, David P. and his wife Jeri of North Reading and Mark R. Pawlowski and his wife Brenda of Huntingtown, MD. He was the adoring "Umpa" of 15 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of one. He was the brother of the late Amelia Fleming, Mitchell, Bruno, Chester and Dr. Emil Pawlowski.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edwards's memory may be made to the Soldiers home at 91 Crest Ave. in Chelsea. 617-887-7115.
