Edward Blair Potter, 88, of Lynnfield, passed away on December 20, 2015 at home.
Edward was born in Bath, Maine to Elsie May [Blair] and Forrest Brewer Potter on April 1, 1927. He graduated from Morse High School in Bath and attended Eastern Nazarene College. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Lynnfield where he worked as a letter carrier for over 30 years. He was actively involved in Centre Congregational Church of Lynnfield for many years and was also a member of the Lynnfield Historical Society. He enjoyed sports as a participant and spectator, even spending a year with a touring basketball team in Maine. More recently, he participated in road races, frequently winning in his age group. Mr. Potter also served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corp. during W.W. II and later in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie Lois [Flewelling]; his daughters and their husbands, Nancy Jean Potter-Desjardins and Peter Desjardins of Reading, Judith Ellen Potter and Steven Furey of Lynnfield, and Susan Blair Potter Alves and Licinio Alves of Portsmouth RI. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Roger Conant Potter Furey and John Cotton Potter Furey, both of Lynnfield; and Julia Blair Alves of Portsmouth, RI as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service in the Centre Congregational Church 5 Summer St. Lynnfield on Saturday January 16 at 11:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Centre Congregational Church 5 Summer St. Lynnfield, MA 01940 or the Lynnfield Senior Center.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Service, Wakefield.
