Sherman III, Edward A. of Lynnfield unexpectedly , July 7. Beloved Husband of Emily and devoted father to Tara Jo Sherman of Las Vegas, NV and Edward A. Sherman, IV of Lynnfield. Devoted Son-in-Law to Josephine DUrso of Lynnfield. Loving friend to future son-in-law Andrew N. Carbaliotis, Jr., Elisangela Silva of Lynn and Grandpa to Princess Nadean. Ed was a Certified Public Accountant who owned and operated his accounting practice in Lynnfield for over thirty years. Ed was a member of the Lynnfield Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and he unselfishly contributed his services to many fraternal organizations.

Ed joined Lynnfield Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in April of 1986. He became an officer and served as Master in 2001-02. During his term Zetland Lodge merged with Lynnfield Lodge and Ed served in various offices, becoming Master of Lynnfield-Zetland Lodge from 2007 to 2011. He served as District Deputy Grand Secretary of the 4th Masonic District and District Treasurer of the 13th District. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal by the Grand Lodge of Masons of Massachusetts.

In Chapter he joined Waverly Royal Arch Chapter of Melrose and after serving as an officer at many levels, was serving as the High Priest of the Chapter at the time of his death. He also served as District Deputy Grand Captain of the Host for the 7th District and was at the time of his death the Associate Grand Treasurer of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Massachusetts.

Ed joined Melrose Council of Royal and Select Master Masons and served as Deputy Grand Recorder for the 6th Arch and was at the time of his death the Associate Grand Treasurer of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Master Masons of Massachusetts.

Ed was also a member of Hugh de Paynes Commandery No. 20, Knights Templar of Melrose and the Associate Grand Treasurer of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

He was a member of the Valley of Boston, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite where he had been a Degree worker for many years. He was also a member of the Valley of Salem where he was Junior Warden of Jubilee Council, Princes of Jerusalem and Senior Warden-elect.

Ed joined Aleppo Temple, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (The Shriners) and was a member of the Ritualistic Degree Team. He was currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Team.

He was also a member of Boston Court No. 103, Royal Order of Jesters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Friday, July 12 at 11:00 am at the Lynnfield Community Church 735 Salem St. Lynnfield. Interment will be at Willow Cemetery, Lynnfield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Thursday from 3 to 8 pm. A Masonic Memorial Service held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Ed's memory may be made to the Edward A. Sherman III Scholarship Fund,
