Edward McManus

Edward T . "Buddy" McManus of Sandown NH and Stuart FL, a retired Boston Police officer and long-time Teamster for Freeman Decorating, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25 surrounded by his family. Born the son of the late Edward and Gertrude McManus , he was predeceased by his sisters, Gertrude Creelman, Mary Bittori, Katherine Whalen and Irene Brodbeck. Buddy was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and horseshoe champion. After being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, Buddy met and married the love of his life the late Elizabeth A. "Betty" Sousa McManus . Together they had eight children. He is survived by his brother in law, Thomas Whalen, sisters in law, Rita Donovan, Noreen Selinger, Doris Fitzmaurice, Virginia Healey, Irene Sousa, and many nieces, nephews and family friends. He was the loving father and papa to: Debra and David Babbitt of Barnstable MA, Donna, Ashley and Wesley Saunders of North Reading MA, Eddie, Judy, Eddie, James and Jake McManus of Squantum MA, Paul McManus of Dorchester MA, Glen McManus of Melrose MA, Karen McManus of Kingston NH, Shaun McManus of Melrose MA, Stacey McGuire, Eric McManus and Zachary McGuire of Melrose MA. Bud is also survived by his loyal friend and pet Sir Stuart Bailey also known as "Big Guy". Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, MA on Tuesday, April 2 from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington St., So End of Boston on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 pm.
