Edwin Weeks

Edwin C. Weeks, 82 of Lancaster formerly of Lynnfield and Melrose died on Friday February 11, at the Walden Nursing Center in Concord.

Born in Lynnfield March 19, 1928 he was the son of the late Edwin and Irene (Preston) Weeks.

Edwin was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Plumber for Local 12 in Boston. He was a dedicated Little League coach for 35 years to the City of Melrose, taking his teams to the state finals on two occasions. Edwin also played goalie for the Lynnfield Knights.

Edwin was the husband of Bernice (Soucy) Weeks. He was the father of Virginia Lavoie and her partner Angel Santiago of Avon, step-father of Christine Balzotti and Lisa Magliozzi, brother of Richard Weeks of Lynnfield, Marion McFeeley of Dennis and the late Harold Weeks, Irene McMinimim and Shirley Murray. Grandfather of Mary Jo, Christopher and Al Lavoie, Christopher and Anthony Balzotti, Hailey, Sophia, and Matteo Magliozzi, Lauren Burke and Cortney Carmilia. Great grandfather of Jacob Lavoie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
