Eileen Griffin, 88, of Wakefield passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 15.
Born in Medford on September 26, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Eldrick and Alice (Jodoin) Jarvis.
Mrs. Griffin was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1941. She was a long time employee at Bingham, Dana & Gould in Boston.
Mrs. Griffin had been a resident of Wakefield since 1969. She was an avid news junkie, life-long shopper, and sun-worshipper. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. "We will miss her dearly."
Mrs. Griffin was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Griffin. She was the loving mother of Elise Jackson and her husband Earl of Cape Neddick, ME, William Griffin and his wife Gae of Springfield, MO, Lauren Griffin of Winchester and the late Patrick Griffin. She was the devoted grandmother of Patrick J. Griffin and his wife Erin and the late David Griffin and the cherished great grandmother of Patrick W. Griffin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., at Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
