Elaine Bennett

Elaine A. "Fitzy" Bennett of Derry, New Hampshire formerly of Somerville, died on Friday, December 21 at her residence.

Born in Boston on August 3, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Ford) Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Bennett was a graduate of St. Clements High School in Somerville. She had retired in 1997 from Boston College from the House Keeping Department.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her two sons; Anthony Bennett and his wife Cheryl of Derry, NH and Edward Bennett and his wife Lila of Wakefield, her three grandchildren; Marisa and Joshua Bennett of Wakefield and Alexandra Bennett of Derry, NH., her brother Joseph Fitzgerald of Somerville and her six sisters; Helen Harrington and Mary Cincotta both of Somerville, Nancy Mitchell of Malden, Doris Malone of Florida, Rita Lott of Texas and Jeanne Devereaux of Revere. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bennett was predeceased by her two sisters; Gerry Robinson and Theresa Devereaux. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
