Elaine Callahan

Elaine D . Callahan , age 94, of Malden, formerly of Stoneham, died Friday, June 19 at the Katzman Family Center for Living in Chelsea.

She was born on January 1, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Luciano) Serignano.

Elaine was a longtime Stoneham resident and was a member of St. Patrick Church. She had worked more than twenty years at Loves Furniture as a bookkeeper, finally retiring at 70 years old!

She was the beloved wife of the late John E. Callahan . She was the loving mother of Jeanne M. Hanson and her husband Richard E. of Stoneham, John E. Callahan Jr. and his wife Jeannine of North Reading, and Susan E. Serino and her husband Anthony of Wakefield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday morning prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC), 20B Mall Road, Suite 261, Burlington, MA 01803.
