Eleanor T. (Seaward) McHugh , 84, of Stoneham died Tuesday, February 4 at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in West Roxbury.

Born in Chelsea, MA on August 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Gillespie) Seaward.

Mrs. McHugh , Ellie, was raised in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School. She had been a Stoneham resident for 47 years. Ellie was retired from the former NYNEX Telephone Company where she worked for many years as a clerk. Ellie was a devoted and active member of Saint Patrick's Parish, having been a CCD teacher, a lay minister and, most recently, an usher.

Ellie was the beloved wife of the late Malcolm E. McHugh . She was the loving mother of Raymond S. McHugh of Reading, the late Mary Ellen McHugh , as well as Tracey A. McHugh . She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Lee McHugh , Charles C. Watson, Barbara Watson, and Gerard Watson.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Friday at 9:00AM, followed by a funeral mass in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10:00AM. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
