Eleanor Russell

Eleanor M. Russell, 98, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, died on Monday, May 23 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Medford on February 28, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Julia (McCoy) Russell.

Miss Russell was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1932. She was a retired shoemaker for the Marilyn Sandal Co. and Maynard-Moore in Stoneham.

Miss Russell was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Julia (McCoy) Russell. She was the sister of the late Ruth M. Crosby, Adeline Russell, Harry G. "Bud" Russell, Harriet Rush, and John I. Russell. She was the beloved and caring aunt of Roberta (Rush) Burke and husband Jim of Saugus, Martha Rush and husband Robert O'Mara of Melrose, Barbara Rush and partner Patty McCormack of Saugus, Andrea (Russell) and husband Larry Green of No. Reading, Jack and wife Janice (Dempsey) Russell of Stoneham, Sharon Russell of Framingham, Larry and wife Lorene (St. Amand) Russell of Stoneham, and Pamela (Russell) Rotondo and husband Robert of Peabody. She was the great and loving aunt of Jennifer, Andrew, Molly, Danny, Brandon, Juliana, Allison, Jimmy, Kyle and Tyler and great great aunt of Dennis and Annie. She was the cousin of the late Madeline Walton. She was the dear friend of Alice Jo and Bill Twohig and family, Paula DiBartolomeo and family, and Dorothy Pothier and family. She is also survived by longtime family friend Tammy and Salvatore Saporito.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 8 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 73 Central St., Stoneham at 9 o'clock. A visitation period for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday 5-7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
