Eleanor Doris Scribner, age 91, died Friday, August 11 at Putnam Farm in Danvers.
Born in Bangor, ME on November 27, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Veronica M. (Budweitis) Prusaitis.
Mrs. Scribner was raised in Bangor, where she graduated High School with Honors. Prior to her marriage, she had worked as the Assistant to the Clerk of the City of Bangor. She and her husband, Robert moved to Massachusetts where he a pursued a Medical Degree at Tufts University. In addition to raising her family, she had worked with her husband as his administrative assistant. She was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society Auxiliary. Mrs. Scribner became very active in the Sunday School Programs at St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield. She enjoyed many summers on Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire and winters in the mountains of Vermont, especially in the town of Stowe. Eleanor travelled the world with her husband, children, and grandchildren on various occasions. She had a love of needlepoint; but above all, she loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Scribner, M.D., with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Elizabeth Wolfe and her husband Edward of Salem, Kathryn E. Scribner of Waltham, Robert M. Scribner and his wife Lynn of Longmont, Colorado, and Thomas H. Scribner of Guilford, NH. She was the sister of Thomas Prusaitis and his wife Joyce of Bangor, ME. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Edward and Michael Wolfe of Salem, Robert T. Scribner of Boulder, CO, Kelsey Gilliland of Denver, CO, Sara Adydan of Palermo, NY, Cecilia Scribner of San Antonio, TX, and Taylor Scribner of NYC, NY.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield, on Friday, August 18 at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
