Elias Azar

Elias Azar, 69, of Malden died on Saturday, August 31 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Born in Haifa, Israel on July 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Rafik and Georgette (Zakka) Azar.

Mr. Azar was raised and educated in Israel and had moved to the United States in 1981. An assistant Technician on Systems boards, he had worked for Wang Laboratories in Lowell.

Mr. Azar was the husband of Abla (Salameh) Azar. He was the father of Rafik Azar of Sacramento, CA and Georgette Young and her husband Brett of North Andover, formerly of Wakefield. Mr. Azar was the brother of Issa Azar of Belmont, Khalil Azar of Watertown and Ibrahim Azar of Monson.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave, Woburn on Friday at 11 a.m. A period of visitation will be held at the church prior to the mass starting at 10:00 o'clock. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield, MA.

Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield following the mass.
